“The stand-ups will be so patriotic that people will wonder if Vladimir Solovyov is a foreign agent”
Nurlan Saburov, a well-known Kazakh comedian who cannot enter Russia due to a ban and is also under the watch of local security services, performed in Phuket. This was reported by Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak on her Telegram channel.
During his performance, the artist ironically reacted to the support, including from Sobchak. He also noted that interest in his show remains high and joked that his stand-ups will become “maximally patriotic.”
“The stand-ups will be so patriotic that people will wonder if Vladimir Solovyov is a foreign agent,” he added humorously.
It is important to note that the entry ban into Russia was imposed by a court based on “national security interests, compliance with legislation, and the protection of traditional spiritual and moral values.” The comedian learned about the ban at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport upon returning from Dubai on the morning of February 7.
After receiving this information, Saburov decided not to comment on the situation, analyzed his social media posts, and returned to Kazakhstan, stating that his lawyers would handle the matter.
On February 16, it became known that Kazakh security services had begun an investigation into Nurlan Saburov due to suspicions of possible financing of one of the parties in the conflict in Ukraine.
