After the incident with the courier that occurred on February 14, 2024, in Almaty, the police are demanding stricter regulations for delivery services. This became known during a meeting attended by representatives of the largest aggregators, the prosecutor's office, city authorities, and the public, as reported by Informburo.kz.

The incident that prompted the meeting involved a courier who, after delivering flowers, began to harass a girl and was arrested for seven days.

Aydin Kabduldiinov, the head of the Almaty police department, noted that couriers have access to private premises and personal data of city residents. The police proposed introducing a number of strict requirements for this category of workers:
The prosecutor's representative also emphasized the importance of complying with legislation and the legality of the status of all workers involved in delivery. During the discussion, participants considered the possibility of revising the internal regulations of the platforms, as well as the need to eliminate incentives that promote "accelerated" delivery, which often leads to safety violations.

Kabduldinov added that if systemic changes do not occur, the police department will be forced to initiate additional regulatory measures. He emphasizes that the growth of the digital economy in Almaty must be accompanied by the development of mechanisms to protect citizens.
