As it became known on February 24, the spring break will begin on March 2. Teachers expressed confusion on social media, wondering how to manage to submit quarter grades in the remaining three days.
The ministry emphasized that when preparing the calendar planning, reserve hours and the need to conduct assessments within the quarter are taken into account.
The ministry noted: "Assessment should be conducted evenly throughout the quarter, rather than being concentrated only at the end," representatives of the agency added, also urging schools:
- to ensure an even distribution of assessments and tests;
- to use reserve hours if necessary;
- to organize the process of entering grades in such a way as to avoid excessive workload on teachers," the statement reads.
The ministry also responded to questions from parents and teachers regarding the impossibility of postponing the break to a later date.
"When planning the academic year, not only the even distribution of workload between quarters is taken into account, but also the presence of official holidays and weekends. For example, in the IV quarter, additional days off related to the Orozoi Ait holiday and the May holidays are already planned. According to labor legislation, non-working days are established during this period, which objectively reduces the number of school days in the IV quarter," the ministry indicated.
If the spring break were postponed to a later date (for example, from March 9 or after Nowruz), it would significantly increase the duration of the III quarter while simultaneously shortening the IV quarter, which already includes holiday days.
