Reduces social differences and fosters discipline. Officials on school uniforms
According to government resolution No. 572 dated August 12, 2015, school uniforms in Kyrgyzstan must comply with classic standards, taking into account the climatic conditions and temperature regime in educational institutions.
The agency noted that the requirements were developed with the involvement of parents, students, and experts. For boys, the uniform includes a shirt, vest, trousers, and a jacket in solid colors such as black, gray, dark blue, and burgundy. Girls may wear a blouse, vest, skirt, trousers, dress, apron, and jacket made of solid fabric or plaid, with shirts required to be in light shades.
At the same time, officials emphasized that forcing low-income families to purchase a specific type of uniform is unjustified; the option of "light top, dark bottom" is allowed.
He noted that he receives many complaints, especially from residents of the regions, about the inconvenience of such uniforms for children. "In summer, it’s hot, and in winter, it’s uncomfortable. Traffic jams in cities make traveling in public transport in such clothing extremely inconvenient. We are creating difficulties for students. In some countries, for example, in communist China, children are allowed to wear sports suits in school, which creates more convenience. I am not suggesting completely abolishing uniforms so that no one comes in rags, but I ask the government to reconsider the dress code and allow children to dress more comfortably—in sweaters, t-shirts, and jeans, that is, in a casual style," the MP noted.
