Residents of Kochkor and Jumgal districts request access to drinking water - deputy

Residents of the village of Chekildik, located in the Kochkor district of Naryn region, are appealing for clean drinking water. This became known during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputy Adilet Belekov spoke.

He pointed out that in 2018 the village gained access to clean water, but the supply stopped after a month.

“Some residents are forced to drink water from the canal, while others are drilling wells on their plots. This raises serious concerns about the quality of the water. In the village of Kyzyl-Jyldyz in the Jumgal district, the situation is similar: one part of the population has access to water, while the other does not,” Belekov reported.

Additionally, the deputy noted that in the village of Epkin, also located in the Kochkor district, a kindergarten has been closed since 1940.

“Since then, there has been no preschool institution in the settlement, and currently more than 100 children are in urgent need of such an establishment. Local residents are requesting the restoration of the kindergarten, as they have to send their children to other villages,” he added.
