Spring break for schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan has been extended.
The country's Ministry of Education reported that, considering citizens' appeals and requests regarding the reduction of the break duration, a decision was made to extend the holiday.
According to the new schedule, spring break will now take place from March 2 to March 7, 2026, adding 4 more days to the original break period.
Previously, according to the established schedule, the break lasted only 3 days — from March 6 to March 8, with the 7th and 8th falling on the weekend — Saturday and Sunday.
The ministry also clarified that to comply with the academic plan, the added 4 days will be made up in May. Thus, the end of the academic year will occur not on the 25th, as usual, but on May 29.
Accordingly, the ceremonial line-up for the "Last Bell" will take place on May 29, 2026.
