In Bishkek, a book titled "The Word on the Military Valor of the Red Commander" was presented.
On February 20, 2026, a presentation of the book "A Word on the Military Valor of the Red Commander," written by retired Colonel Mazalbek Kabaev, took place in Bishkek. The event was held in the assembly hall of the Academy of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) named after Lieutenant General A.K. Bakaev, coinciding with the birthday of Jumabek Asankulov, the former chairman of the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences, veteran KGB officers, the author's relatives, the faculty of the GKNB Academy, as well as cadets and conscript soldiers gathered for the presentation.
Jumabek Asankulov, born on February 20, 1927, in the village of Keper-Aryk in the Moscow district of Chui region, served in the state security agencies from September 1946 to August 1991. He rose from an operational officer to the head of the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR, becoming the first national leader of these agencies. For his achievements in ensuring state security, Asankulov was awarded several honors. After retiring, he participated in the establishment of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The book written by Kabaev is dedicated to Arstanaly Osmonbekov, the first commander of the Kyrgyz cavalry division in the Fergana Valley, who was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for his military merits.
The organizers noted: "This work tells about the heroism of our fathers who served in the ranks of the Red Army from 1918 to 1925. The goal of the event is to instill in the youth a spirit of patriotism and love for the Motherland. The documentary-biographical essay about the red commander has significant historical importance. The Red Army soldiers fought against banditry, protected the civilian population, built schools, and contributed to the creation of collective farms, which became the starting point for the sovereignty of the Kyrgyz Republic."
