The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has adopted amendments to the resolution dated March 3, 2025, No. 105, which pertains to the identification of agricultural animals and the products obtained from them. These updates are necessary to align the rules with current legislation and clarify the process of visual identification of livestock.

According to the new standards, when identifying cattle, horses, donkeys, and mules, it will be allowed to use not only microchipping but also an additional stamp with the symbol "i". This stamp, which is applied using liquid nitrogen, must be placed on the left side of the animal — on the thigh or the lower part of the cheek in front of the jaw.

The purpose of introducing this mark is to simplify the visual recognition of already identified animals, which will help reduce the likelihood of their substitution during movement or sale.

The new rules will come into effect in ten days.
