Citizens reminded of the consequences of irresponsible actions
In a statement, the State Committee for National Security emphasized that false reports of bomb threats fall under criminal legislation and can lead to imprisonment.
Law enforcement agencies noted that increasingly, places with large gatherings of people, including shopping centers and educational institutions, are becoming victims of malicious actors. What some consider a "joke" or a desire to disrupt classes actually poses a threat to public safety.
Each such call requires a full evacuation, diverting significant resources away from combating real crimes. "This disrupts the usual way of life for many people and leads to significant financial losses for the budget," the State Committee for National Security stated.
Criminal liability under Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic arises immediately, and for juvenile "jokers," the consequences can also be serious: in addition to being monitored by specialized agencies, their parents may also be held accountable.
Experts urge parents to pay closer attention to their children's behavior to ensure that their harmless pranks do not lead to devastating consequences and real prison time, and to avoid thoughtless actions themselves.
