The official trailer for the first Kyrgyz action drama "Illegal: Through Mexico" has been released.
The creators of the film previously worked on "Paradise Under the Feet of Mothers," which received significant public attention. The new project elevates Kyrgyz cinema to a higher level both in terms of genre and production.
"Illegal: Through Mexico" is the first action-drama filmed in South America, including shoots in jungles and other hard-to-reach natural locations. The filming process took place under extreme conditions, adding a unique atmosphere of realism and tension to the film.
The film reveals an important topic that many prefer to remain silent about. It demonstrates the true cost of the illegal migration route through Mexico and tells the stories of people who risk their lives in pursuit of their goals. This work is about borders — both external and internal, about dreams and the resilience of the human spirit.
The director of the film is Ruslan Akun, with leading roles played by actors Emil Esenaliev, Zhakhan Utargaliyev, Aisanat Edigeeva, Rauan Akhmedov, and Abilaykhan Ainabekov.
One of the project's features is international collaboration — the participation of Kazakh actors broadens the horizons of the film and adds a regional scale.
The planned premiere in Kyrgyzstan will take place on March 19. After that, the film will be presented in theaters in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
