The deputy called for the introduction of limits on amounts for transfers through bank terminals.
As an example, he cited a case of fraud that occurred in January of this year, in which a citizen of Kyrgyzstan was the victim.
“A woman received a call from individuals posing as bank and GKNB employees, who sent her the technical passport of her apartment, claiming that it had been re-registered to another person. They persuaded her to visit a real estate agency. As a result, trusting the fraudsters, she sold her apartment and transferred an amount of 10 million 600 thousand soms through the terminal,” the deputy reported.
In his opinion, it is necessary to set a limit on one-time transfers, for example, no more than one million soms, to prevent similar situations.
“I understand when people transfer 10 thousand soms. But it is unlikely that ordinary citizens will be sending each other one million soms through a terminal. This clearly raises suspicions,” added Dastan Bekeshev.
Representatives of the National Bank promised to carefully consider this issue.
Committee members also discussed the implementation of the Jogorku Kenesh resolution on measures to combat fraud in the banking sector and the internet.
