Today, February 22, a festive event called "Farewell, Maslenitsa" is taking place in the square of the Lenin House of Culture in Kara-Balta.
The culmination of the celebration will be the traditional burning of the Maslenitsa effigy, which, according to the organizers, reaches a height of 6 meters.
The holiday has gathered numerous vibrant performances from creative groups representing various nationalities living in the city.
Concert numbers, folk songs and dances, as well as traditional treats characteristic of Maslenitsa, have been prepared for the participants of the event.
