A map of the 11th century world centered on Issyk-Kul will be installed in Bishkek. » Gazeta.kg

The initiative to create a copy of the map made by the scholar Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani in the 11th century was announced by Arslan Koichiev, the Secretary of State of Kyrgyzstan. On this map, Issyk-Kul will be presented as the center of the world.

The Ministry of Culture has been tasked with organizing a competition to determine the best project for implementing this idea.

This initiative is timed to the 1000th anniversary of the birth of Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani and will be carried out in Bishkek.
