Mederbek Satiev: Being Closer to People is the Main Principle of the Court's Work
During the meeting, which was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Supreme Court Mederbek Satyyev, the results of the courts' work were discussed.
In his speech, Satyyev emphasized that the quality of justice depends on the professionalism of judges, their discipline, unified practices, and adherence to ethical standards.
He noted that this meeting is not a formal event, but rather an opportunity to analyze identified shortcomings and determine directions for future work. The main goal is development, not criticism.
The Chairman of the Issyk-Kul Regional Court Nurchalyy Asanbaev presented information on the quality of justice during the discussion, stating that in 2025, 870 cases were reviewed in the appellate process. Of these, 413 cases were appealed in cassation, and 312 cases (75.54%) were left unchanged.
Mederbek Satyyev emphasized that the quality of judges' work plays a key role in forming public trust in the judicial system. He called for enhanced analysis of judicial practices and the development of specific measures to address shortcomings.
The head of the Supreme Court noted that public trust in the judicial system depends on the work of judges and highlighted those who demonstrate high results, while also warning judges with low performance about the need to improve their work.
“How can citizens trust our courts if the work is carried out formally, without deep analysis?” — Mederbek Satyyev asked, emphasizing that every careless or superficial decision undermines the authority of the entire judicial system.
During the meeting, important topics were also discussed, such as the operation of automated information systems, issues related to land plots, repairs and construction, as well as personnel policy and the activities of judicial officers.
