The budget revenue of Bishkek is projected to be at 33 billion soms in 2026







On February 20, open hearings on the 2026 budget project took place in Bishkek, as reported by the city administration.

Residents of the city, the mayor's deputies, deputies of the Bishkek City Council, and heads of various city services were present at the event.

The hearings were chaired by Bekzhan Usenaliev, the head of the Bishkek City Council, along with the first deputy mayor Mirlanbek Baigonchokov, the deputy chairman of the BGC Zhyldyzbek Abdraymov, and the chairman of the budget commission Elnura Duyshkeeva.

Mirlanbek Baigonchokov, the first deputy mayor, emphasized that several significant projects were successfully implemented in 2025.

“Over the past five years, the capital's budget has tripled. The opportunities of our city continue to expand, and it is actively developing. We are conducting numerous activities aimed at the welfare of every resident. We are confident that we can realize ambitious plans and make Bishkek even more comfortable and modern,” noted the first deputy mayor.

Ruslan Sadyrbaev, head of the "Bishkek Financial Management" of the Ministry of Finance, presented the budget project for 2026, noting that actual revenues for 2025 amounted to 30.5 billion soms, which is 1.1 billion soms more than planned.

The budget expenditures of Bishkek in 2025 amounted to 30.7 billion soms, most of which were directed towards urban development. In addition, according to the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2.9 billion soms were allocated from the Stabilization Fund for infrastructure improvements. These funds were mainly used for the construction and repair of roads, city beautification, enhancing security in educational institutions, and implementing other important initiatives.

According to the budget project for 2026, Ruslan Sadyrbaev indicated that the revenue part of the local budget will amount to 32.9 billion soms. These funds will be directed towards improving road infrastructure, developing engineering networks, capital repairs, and constructing new social facilities, as well as beautifying and greening areas.

During the hearings, residents of the city asked questions about gasification, sewage, road conditions, social facilities, and transportation, to which they received answers from representatives of the municipality and deputies of the BGC. All proposed initiatives will be reviewed by the relevant services.
