It is proposed to implement a national registry of patients with chronic kidney disease in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The question of the necessity of creating a national registry for people suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) was raised in the report of the chief freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan. They insist on integrating this registry into the EHealth online healthcare system.

As noted in the document, the Center for Electronic Health had previously considered the idea of forming an electronic registry for patients with various stages of CKD. However, after the center was disbanded, this issue remained unresolved.

Experts suggest that the relevant department of the Ministry of Health promptly finalize the development and implementation of a unified database for patients with CKD, ensuring its integration with existing dialysis and transplantation registries.

It was previously reported that there is a constant increase in cases of CKD at the global level. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, more than 4,000 people in Kyrgyzstan undergo hemodialysis, for which 2.5 billion soms are allocated from the state budget.

According to doctors, low motivation for preventive examinations, labor migration, and insufficient public awareness are the main reasons preventing patients from undergoing timely diagnosis and treatment.
