A modern cultural center for youth may be built in the city of Manas.
According to Imanaliev, the preparation of the land plot is currently underway, after which the project will be submitted for consideration to the Cabinet of Ministers. "After the completion of the new administrative building last year, we relocated the city education department to new premises, and the music school was placed in another building. The old buildings of these institutions, located at the intersection of J. Bakiev and Erkindik streets, were in poor condition. We held a competition for their demolition, which was won by private individuals for the amount of 149,000 soms. Currently, demolition work is being carried out," he added.
The planned site, covering 20 acres, will become the location for a multifunctional cultural center. In Manas, there are practically no coworking spaces or leisure areas for youth, and there is also no library, so the project will include a modern reading room. Imanaliev noted that at the moment we do not have our own funds for construction, but as soon as the site is ready, we will submit the project with a proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers," the vice-mayor clarified.
The buildings currently occupied by the city education department and the only music school were built in the 1960s. In 2008, the Ministry of Emergency Situations declared these facilities to be in emergency condition.
