According to the National Statistical Committee, in January 2026, nearly 590 thousand Uzbeks traveled abroad, which is 6.9% higher than the same figure for January of last year.
Kyrgyzstan confidently took first place in the number of visits, with over 232 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan visiting. Tajikistan and Kazakhstan also made it into the top three, with 98.6 thousand and 88 thousand Uzbeks visiting respectively. The popularity of these countries is attributed to convenient transport links, the presence of relatives, and active trade at the border.
Among distant foreign countries, the largest number of Uzbeks headed to Saudi Arabia — over 62.6 thousand people. Russia, Turkey, and the UAE also continue to remain among the popular destinations. Rounding out the top ten most sought-after countries are Thailand, China, and Egypt.
