The buses will operate on the narrow streets of residential areas
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, the purchase of 625 small buses is planned. This was announced by Ulanbek Beyshenbaev, the director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the city administration.
He noted that an analysis of prices and technical specifications of various transport models is currently underway.
According to Beyshenbaev, these buses will be intended for the narrow roads located in residential areas.
Additionally, it is planned to install air conditioning in all municipal buses.
It is also worth noting that Beyshenbaev mentioned a review of all bus routes in the city for the purpose of optimization.
As a result of these changes, passengers will have to transfer to reach their final destination.
However, the city administration promises that within one hour, it will be possible to transfer to another bus without paying again. Nevertheless, residents of the city have already expressed their dissatisfaction with this initiative, fearing it will negatively impact their financial situation and increase travel time.
