In the next 2-3 months, the Bishkek city administration plans to expand the smart traffic light project to the entire city. This was announced by Ulanbek Beyshenbaev, the director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure.
According to Beyshenbaev, the municipal enterprise "Center for Digital Technologies" is already actively working on this initiative. "An automated traffic management system will be implemented throughout the capital," he added.
It is worth noting that earlier, as part of a pilot project, smart traffic lights were installed at 21 intersections in the city.
The director emphasized that the results of the pilot launch confirmed the effectiveness of the system, which has already proven itself in major cities around the world.
