
Illich Kulnazarov, press secretary of the State Insurance Organization, announced the start of an information campaign timed to the spring season.
As Kulnazarov noted, the goal of this initiative is to raise public awareness about insurance and increase the number of insured residential properties. This is especially important in conditions of heightened risks associated with heavy snowfall and potential landslides, so preventive measures play a crucial role in protecting property.

Currently, activities to inform the population are actively being conducted in the regions. Local authorities are organizing meetings and gatherings where they discuss the benefits of housing insurance.
Particular attention is paid to people living in high-risk areas. They are being informed about the procedure for obtaining an insurance policy," emphasized Kulnazarov.
High-risk areas for mudflows and landslides
According to Marat Osmonkojo uulu, director of the branch of the State Insurance Organization in the Jalal-Abad region, many roofs of houses were damaged due to heavy snowfall in the Toguz-Toro, Toktogul, and Chatkal districts.
"Currently, insurance payouts are being made for the insured houses. At the same time, we are conducting explanatory work among the population, providing examples of families who have already received payouts after insuring their homes," he added.
"In our region, the level of insurance coverage has reached 40%, which has allowed us to become leaders in this area," noted Osmonkojo uulu.

According to the State Insurance Organization, during the 2025–2026 years, the following payouts were made to citizens under mandatory housing insurance against natural disasters and fires:
- As of February 1, 2026, 10 citizens whose homes were damaged received a total of 3,206,660 soms.
- As of December 31, 2025, 247 citizens received payouts totaling 31,878,000 soms.
Each case is considered in accordance with the law, and payouts are made on time after verifying all necessary documents.

As of December 31, 2025, there were 357,480 contracts for mandatory housing insurance in the country.
These figures indicate a growing interest and responsibility among the population regarding mandatory housing insurance.
The insurance rates are as follows:
- 600 soms per year for rural residents;
- 1,200 soms per year for urban residents.
What can be insured?
Private houses, apartments, and other types of housing registered as real estate are subject to insurance.

- Private house;
- Part of a residential premises;
- Apartment in a multi-apartment building;
- Communal apartment;
- Room in a communal apartment;
- Room in a special housing fund;
- Hotel;
- Residential building of hotel type.
- Housing insurance is not an expense, but a means of protection;
- Enter into a contract in advance, not after damage occurs;
- Obtain an insurance policy legally and officially;
- Take measures to prepare for natural disasters (drainage, safe construction, accounting for hazardous zones).
