Residents of the Chett-Bulak neighborhood in the city of Batken express concern over the lack of bus routes.

According to local residents, there are only three buses operating in Batken. Despite their frequent runs, they cannot fully meet the needs of passengers. The transportation issue has been discussed for a long time, yet no new buses have appeared in the city.

“The situation worsens especially during school hours. In the morning, schoolchildren head to educational institutions, while adults go to work. If you’re lucky, the buses are overcrowded; if not, you have to wait for the next one, which may take more than half an hour. This leads to delays for both students and working people. At any time of day, there are clearly not enough buses,” shares Chett-Bulak resident Adina Musaeva.

There are only six buses in Batken: three serve Chett-Bulak, and the other three serve the Kyzyl-Zhol neighborhood. To solve the transportation problem, additional buses need to be purchased.

“Yes, the problem exists, and there aren’t enough buses. This year, we plan to purchase new buses with funds from the Development Fund. If this issue is resolved, we will also be able to open new routes. This situation has arisen due to population growth,” said Asan Amanbaev, director of the municipal enterprise "Batken-Autobaza".

More than 1,000 families live in the Chett-Bulak neighborhood, and most students head to classes in the city of Batken.
