Kenges Temirov: From Naryn to Chicago — the story of a Kyrgyz who changed his life<{short}>Turmush — 34-year-old Kenges Temirov, originally from the Nookat district of the Osh region, now lives in the USA and is actively involved in charity work.

When he was just seven years old, his family moved to Naryn, where his parents started a trading business. He graduated from Chkalov School, and now his two sons are studying at the same school.

After finishing high school, he enrolled in the law department of the Kyrgyz National University, and then in 2012, he graduated from a specialized police training institution in Osh. His service in law enforcement began in Naryn, where he worked in various departments, including criminal investigation. In 2022, he left the police.

In December of the same year, Temirov moved to Chicago. Here, he started working and created a blog about the life of Kyrgyz people in America, which became popular. Initially, he began making videos to explain the process of obtaining a driver's license, as he initially did not know the language, which complicated the paperwork. His videos attracted attention, and he continued to create content.

Kenges also became part of an initiative to raise funds for purchasing a mosque. He was impressed by how the Kyrgyz community in Chicago supported this idea, even despite having significant family obligations. Many donated money on behalf of their families or even cars. As a result, the mosque was acquired, and now the community is actively engaged in charity work, including transporting the bodies of Kyrgyz citizens who passed away in the USA.

Kenges noted that there are no issues with Kyrgyz cuisine in Chicago, and singles can more easily find partners thanks to events organized by the diaspora. He shared that time flies here quickly, as work is organized by hours, and he also rents a truck for extra income.

“We created our community 'Sak bol' ('Be careful'), which raises money for charity in Kyrgyzstan. Every month we send about $5,000,” Temirov added.

His dream is to gain experience in America, save money, and return to Kyrgyzstan to start a business that will be beneficial.
