The highest number of violations was observed in local self-government bodies, where 183 cases were recorded, which is 32 cases more than in the same period of 2024. There is also an increase in the healthcare sector — 103 crimes, which is 29 cases higher than last year.
Corruption violations were identified in other areas as well:
- 58 cases in land management and geodesy authorities;
- 49 in the field of education and science (in 2024 — 100);
- 48 in internal affairs agencies (in 2024 — 39);
- 39 in energy companies, such as "Barki Tojik" (in 2024 — 80);
- 30 in the banking sector;
- 24 in the Ministry of Agriculture (in 2024 — 50);
- 12 in the Ministry of Labor (in 2024 — 10);
- 12 in the Ministry of Defense (in 2024 — 70);
- 8 in judicial bodies (in 2024 — 15);
- 7 in the Committee for Environmental Protection;
- 665 cases in other agencies and structures.
Among the registered crimes, 442 cases are related to corruption, 603 to economic corruption, and 200 to other types. As a result of investigations, 571 criminal cases against 528 individuals were sent to court.
A significant financial damage of over $127.3 million was also noted, identified at the international airport in Dushanbe. The former head of the airport and several of his employees are in custody.
According to the Corruption Perception Index from Transparency International for 2024, Tajikistan ranks 164th out of 180 countries, losing 19 positions compared to the previous year.
