Almazbek Ashiraliyev, who lives in the Jayil district of Chui region, is passionate about collecting antique household items, including mortars, irons, cast-iron pots, and glass holders.

According to the collector, finding such items turned out to be not so difficult. Many of them he acquired at flea markets, as well as received as gifts from friends and acquaintances who were aware of his hobby. During the search process, he learned a lot of interesting facts about his finds. For example, a mortar is a tool used for grinding and crushing various products. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the mortar was an integral part of almost every household and symbolized overcoming difficulties, releasing negative emotions, and unlocking mental abilities. Archaeologists have discovered mortars created by humans over 35,000 years ago.

Cast-iron pots also hold a worthy place in his collection. These pots made of cast iron continue to be used for cooking and are ideal for baking in the oven. Cast iron products do not rust and prevent food from burning. In Kyrgyzstan, mass production of cast-iron pots began in the early 19th century.

Another interesting item in the collection is the glass holders. Tea is an important tradition in Asian and Russian cuisines. Previously, water for tea was boiled in large samovars and poured into glasses or bowls. The bowl helps cool the tea faster and is more comfortable to hold, while a hot glass can burn. Therefore, glass holders were invented for glasses, which were sometimes made from precious metals such as silver and gold," he added.
