Call Center: Fines for Turning Without a No-Turn Sign on Akhunbaeva/Maldybaeva
He reported: "For an hour, I observed how the GUOBDD inspector was stopping cars and issuing fines to those turning left at the intersection of Akhunbaev and Maldybaev, moving from east to west, from Baytik Batyr Street to Aitmatov Avenue. Previously, there was a sign saying 'Left turn prohibited,' and the road markings indicated 'Straight movement,' but the sign was removed. Therefore, according to the rules, if there is no sign, then a left turn is allowed," he explained.
The local resident suggested changing the road markings to 'Straight and left turn allowed.' He also asked: "If the service really wanted to prohibit this maneuver, then why was the sign removed? After all, under the snow, the arrow marking is not visible," he added.
The Kaktus.media editorial team requested a comment from the GUOBDD.
The press service stated: "An inspection is currently being conducted regarding this appeal. It is known that preventive work was being carried out that day."
