The deputy calls for a comprehensive analysis of the problem
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed the opinion that there is still no comprehensive approach to solving the problems of orphans. He noted that key issues related to education, support for graduates of boarding schools, and, importantly, providing them with housing remain unresolved.
“Certainly, they are currently receiving money for deposits, but this is clearly not enough. State mortgages will be an unbearable burden for them. It is not feasible to direct everyone to state mortgages — this is impractical. We need to determine the next steps. To be honest, GIK housing has become inaccessible for many due to inflation,” the parliamentarian noted.
He also added that obtaining state mortgage housing is impossible without a stable income.
Bekeshev urged the government to consider alternative solutions, such as dormitories, service apartments, and other forms of social support.
The deputy suggested bringing this issue to the Cabinet of Ministers for discussion, emphasizing that it is important for elected representatives to know what solutions are being proposed in order to provide citizens with clear answers.
“I don’t want to tell people that the state is unable to help — sorry. Or to send them into a mortgage where they will be denied,” Bekeshev concluded, adding that hoping for inherited housing is also unrealistic.
