The department is confident that the breaks for schoolchildren are distributed fairly.
The Ministry of Education commented on parents' dissatisfaction regarding the reduction of spring break to one working day — Friday, March 6. The department explained that the breaks and academic quarters are organized in accordance with the new norms of the Labor Code and the upcoming holidays in 2026.
The days off on March 7 and 8 were included in the spring break period.
“Every student in general education institutions is entitled to 30 calendar days of vacation per academic year,” representatives of the ministry noted.
According to the established schedule for the 2025-2026 academic year, the autumn break is planned from November 5 to 9, 2025 (five calendar days, including weekends), and the spring break is from March 6 to 8 (three calendar days, taking weekends into account).
Previously, parents expressed concerns that such a short period would not allow students to fully rest, especially considering that the third quarter is traditionally regarded as the most intense in the academic process.
