The Arctic and Antarctic Scientific Research Institute shared photographs of the total solar eclipse that occurred over Antarctica. These images were taken at the Vostok Station, as reported by Meduza.
The duration of the total eclipse phase was 2 minutes and 19 seconds, while the total duration of the eclipse reached approximately four and a half hours.
At 15:13 Moscow time, the Moon obscured about 96.3% of the solar disk, leaving only a thin "ring" part of the Sun visible.
The research institute emphasized that such an annular eclipse is a rarity that occurs when the Moon is at a significant distance from the Earth.
