There is no apocalypse,” he emphasized, comparing it to the situation in Almaty.
He reported that local authorities have studied the experience of neighboring countries. In particular, Tashkent is implementing 24 measures to improve air quality, of which 11 have already been implemented in Bishkek.
As Aibek Junushaliev noted, although the problem of smog has not been completely resolved, the concentration of harmful particles in the air is decreasing.

The mayor also reviewed the operation of the heat and power plant (HPP). He noted that the second winter is passing without disruptions, and a system for sulfur removal has been installed on one of the pipes. “This system has been launched on the smallest pipe of the HPP — it is intended only for steam,” he added.
In addition, gasification of residential areas continues in Bishkek: out of 105 new buildings, 54 are already connected to gas. According to the mayor, municipal inspections constantly check homes that emit black smoke.
“We also live here, my children are growing up in this city. We are using all available means to improve air quality,” Aibek Junushaliev assured, emphasizing that efforts to improve the environmental situation will continue.
