The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) has initiated an official bid to host the U-23 Asian Cup in 2028. This tournament is considered one of the most significant youth competitions in Asia, featuring the 16 best Olympic teams from the continent.
In its bid, Kyrgyzstan presented a concept that includes stadiums meeting international standards, modern training facilities, developed hotel infrastructure, and well-thought-out transport logistics. The KFU emphasizes that hosting a championship of this scale will help accelerate the modernization of the country's football infrastructure, enhance its international status, and attract youth to sports.
The competition for the right to host this tournament promises to be fierce: among the contenders are also Jordan, Japan, Qatar, the UAE, and Uzbekistan.
From March 2 to 6, an AFC inspection commission is expected to visit the country to assess the readiness of the infrastructure. After that, a final decision will be made regarding the venue for the competition. The KFU views this project as an important step for the development of football in the country and for raising the level of young athletes' performance on the international stage.
