With the support of the 'Nurzaman' Construction Company, the 'Ene Uyu' center has been opened. Here, children are not allowed to become orphans.
In the last five years, more than 100 abandoned newborns have been found in Kyrgyzstan. They were left in various places: on the streets, at the doors of houses, in garbage containers, or were abandoned directly in maternity hospitals. Experts link such cases to financial difficulties and the lack of support for women in crisis situations. Without a stable income and housing, as well as without help from relatives, it becomes very difficult for mothers to make the right decision.

To combat the problem of child abandonment, a resource center called "Ene Uyu" - "Mother's House" was opened in Bishkek with the support of the construction company "Nurzaman." The main goal of this institution is to keep children in families and provide assistance to mothers.

At the opening of the center, the Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Zhyldyz Taalaibek kyzy, emphasized that supporting mothers and children is a priority and noted that such projects are extremely necessary for Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Minister of Labor, Ainura Orozbaeva, expressed hope that the center would become a place where women can gain the necessary knowledge and self-confidence.

The center offers temporary free housing, psychological support, and training in various professions, such as cooking, sewing, or beauty salon skills. Women can stay here from three to twelve months, depending on their circumstances. The rooms accommodate two to three women, ensuring comfortable conditions.

There are also other success stories. One woman, fearing that she would not be able to feed her newborn, had already given him up to an orphanage. However, after the intervention of the center's staff, mother and child were able to reunite. In seven months, she restored her health, learned new professions, and is ready to start an independent life.

Kuduret Kaariyev, co-founder of the company, noted that the decision to support the project was made based on its effective results.

"We were looking for an area where help would be truly tangible. We saw that the project demonstrates real achievements. For example, in Kazakhstan, over 12 years, the number of children in orphanages decreased from 10,000 to 4,700, and the number of children in baby homes dropped from 1,500 to 372. By helping children stay with their mothers, we give them a chance for a full life and prevent orphanhood," he noted.

Significance of the Initiative

Despite the existence of a system of orphanages and boarding schools, preventing orphanhood remains the most effective approach. In most cases, children end up in institutions not due to the absence of parents, but because of a lack of support for their mothers.

"Currently, there are more than 10,000 children in orphanages and boarding schools in Kyrgyzstan. Of these, only 5% are without parents; the rest have families," noted Nazgul Turdubekova, director of the branch of the international project "Mother's House" in Kyrgyzstan.

Creating such centers allows us to focus on the causes rather than the consequences—such as poverty, social isolation, psychological trauma, and lack of assistance.

And if at least one child remains with their mother, that is already a significant change in fate. Thus, such projects are of great importance.
