The Republican Center for Strengthening Health and Mass Communication of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reminds that measles is a highly contagious viral disease transmitted through respiratory droplets.
The main source of infection is an infected person. Individuals who have not been vaccinated can become ill even after brief contact with an infected person.
According to the national vaccination schedule, children are recommended to receive the MMR vaccine at the age of one year and again at two years. This vaccination protects against measles, mumps, and rubella.
Measles, mumps, and rubella are viral infections that can easily spread through coughing and sneezing. These diseases may resemble a cold but are also accompanied by characteristic rashes and painful swelling.
It is important to note that children who miss the MMR vaccination are at risk during outbreaks of these diseases.
