A new method for removing polyps in children has been implemented at the NCODM.
The operation was carried out using minimally invasive technology. At the first stage, a ligating loop Endo-Loop was applied to the stalk of the polyp, which allowed for the cessation of blood supply to the polyp and minimized the risk of bleeding during the surgery. The polyp was then removed using an electrosurgical loop.
The polyp measured 55 × 45 mm, and the length of the stalk was 9 cm. The removal was successful, without any complications. After the surgery, a follow-up examination was conducted, during which no signs of bleeding were found. The removed polyp was sent for histological examination.
The postoperative period proceeded without complications, and the patient's condition remained stable. The child was discharged in satisfactory condition under outpatient observation.
Medical specialists note that modern endoscopic technologies allow such surgeries to be performed as safely as possible, without the need for incisions and prolonged recovery, which is especially important in pediatric practice.
