The Ministry of Education claims that the total number of holidays remains the same.
This year, spring break for students in Kyrgyzstan will be just one day — March 6. Meanwhile, Saturday and Sunday remain the standard days off for educational institutions operating on a five-day schedule.
Parents expressed dissatisfaction regarding the reduction of holidays after the third quarter, the longest in the academic year, last year when the new rules were announced. However, the Ministry of Education did not change the established order, citing the update of the Labor Code, which in 2026 increased the duration of winter (after New Year) and May holidays.
Additionally, March 8, which falls on a Sunday, will also not be rescheduled. All transfers under the new Labor Code have been canceled.
