Employees of the Republican Center for Health Promotion once again emphasize the dangers associated with passive smoking.

Smoking, as a personal choice, becomes a problem when those around begin to inhale tobacco smoke. Passive smoking poses a serious threat to the health of non-smokers.

Experts report that a non-smoking person spending eight hours in a closed room with smokers is equivalent to smoking five cigarettes.

Tobacco smoke affects the mucous membranes and worsens the condition of the respiratory organs, increasing the likelihood of lung cancer.

The most vulnerable to passive smoking are children, pregnant women, and the elderly. They are at risk of developing colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, and infectious diseases, as well as more serious conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, and brain tumors.

It should be reminded that according to the legislation of Kyrgyzstan, smoking is prohibited in enclosed spaces and public places.
