In the city of Osh, the territory of the former hospital is being cleared of illegal constructions — demolition is underway.
According to information from local authorities, on February 12, an instruction was given to the heads of the relevant institutions to engage in the improvement of this area, which had long been neglected.
As part of these activities, garbage is being cleaned up, temporary structures and illegal fences are being dismantled, and the area is being brought into proper condition.
The Municipal Property Management of the city of Osh is responsible for the clearance of abandoned buildings and dilapidated walls. As reported by the head of the department, Jakshylyq Toktogonov, these sites are under the department's jurisdiction.
“These lands belong to our management. The question of what will be built on this site and for what purposes it will be used has not yet been resolved. The area is about 60 acres. We obtained some plots through the court, while legal proceedings are still ongoing for others,” he added.
Once, this area housed the city hospital, which provided medical services to residents. Due to the deteriorating condition of the building, the hospital was later relocated to another site.
Currently, a seven-story clinic of Osh State University is being constructed on this land. At the same time, as noted by Jakshylyq Toktogonov, the area where the cleanup and demolition work is taking place does not fall within the territory of the future clinic.
