The sinkhole happened in the center of the road and quickly "swallowed" a significant portion of the asphalt surface.
This incident took place on February 12, when leaks of groundwater were recorded at the construction site of the new "Jiaxian" subway line. The sinkhole was so impressive that people nearby felt underground tremors.
Video footage from surveillance cameras soon went viral. The recordings show the ground beginning to sink, the asphalt cracking, and vehicles swerving at the last moment.
The city authorities reported that no one was injured as a result of the incident, and all workers were evacuated in time.
