Thailand may reduce the visa-free period to 30 days for tourists from 90 countries
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is confident that this decision will not negatively impact the country's tourism sector, as most travelers spend less than a month here on average.
Nattaya Thavivong, the permanent secretary of the ministry, noted that a new committee, created by the Prime Minister and headed by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will review visa regulations, including the possibility of visa-free stays of up to 60 days for citizens of 93 countries.
She emphasized that "the changes will not affect the flow of tourists, as most foreigners stay in Thailand for no longer than 21 days. For those who wish to stay longer than 30 days, there is an option to extend their visa."
