Illiteracy among the population may threaten the infrastructure of the capital no less than active construction
Social media is actively discussing the incident of a heating pipeline burst on 7 April Street in Bishkek, which, according to some users, happened "due to hot water." This was reported by readers of Vesti.kg.
Many residents believe that it is necessary to contact the heating plant with a request to lower the water temperature to avoid similar situations with the pipes.
It should be noted that there are sanitary and technical standards regulating the temperature of water supplied to residential buildings. Typically, the heating temperature ranges from 70 to 90 °C in the supply pipeline and from 50 to 70 °C in the return. For hot water supply (HWS), the temperature at the tap should range from 60 °C to 75 °C. In regions with an open heating system, such as Bishkek, the temperature of hot water at the heating point is usually between 57-60 °C. In conditions of severe frost, the temperature may vary depending on external conditions. On such days, it can reach from 85 to 150 °C, but usually remains in the range of 70–90 °C.
It is also worth reminding that as a result of the accident, some houses in the southern neighborhoods were left without heating and hot water. The city administration reported that work is currently underway to repair the damages.
