In the city of Cholpon-Ata, construction of a new building for the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service has begun.
Previously, ecologists worked in an old dilapidated building that had been used by various departments for the past 50 years. Due to its worn-out condition, there was a need to construct a new office. Today, a ceremony was held in Cholpon-Ata to lay the foundation of a modern building for the environmental service.
The project for the new two-story building (excluding the basement) includes all necessary conditions and amenities. The total cost of construction amounts to 79 million soms, funded by the ministry. The new office will house service offices, a conference room, reception areas for citizens, and modern laboratories.
Melis Muratov, Deputy Head of the Regional Office for the Issyk-Kul Region, stated: “The area of the building will be 930 square meters, and we plan to complete the construction work by September of this year. The work is being carried out in accordance with current standards, and the quality is being strictly monitored.”
Foreman Sapар Omurgaziev noted that in recent years, the responsibility of the region's ecologists has increased. They are currently engaged in preventing illegal fishing and hunting, as well as retrieving nets from the bottoms of lakes and ensuring environmental protection and technical safety. “These measures are yielding results, and we expect that the new building will enhance the efficiency of our specialists' work,” he added.
