Military bloggers express concerns about the consequences of the blockages
In Russia, the WhatsApp application and the YouTube website have been completely disabled, while the Telegram messenger has faced partial restrictions. This information is reported by Russian news resources and Telegram channels.
Roskomnadzor has excluded the domains of WhatsApp and YouTube from its DNS servers, making access to these services impossible without using a VPN.
Although Telegram is not completely blocked, users have already begun to complain about a decline in the speed and functionality of the application. Military bloggers have also expressed their concerns, believing that the restrictions on Telegram will negatively impact the informational support of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Roskomnadzor made the decision to block these services due to violations of Russian legislation and court rulings. Furthermore, this blockage may be related to attempts to promote the new messenger MAX, which has not gained popularity among users due to concerns about surveillance of their devices and actions.
