In the Russian National Domain Name System (NSDI), the WhatsApp domain has disappeared. This occurred as part of the implementation of the law on the "sovereign Runet," as reported by DW.

According to information from sources, this means that users in Russia can no longer obtain IP addresses for the messenger. Thus, to access WhatsApp, it is necessary to use a VPN.
It is also worth noting that on February 10, Roskomnadzor removed the YouTube domain from its DNS servers, which deprived Russians of the ability to use this service without a VPN.
