The Bishkek Health Strengthening Center reports that the main factors contributing to the development of prostatitis are previous infections of the urinary system, as well as chronic inflammatory diseases caused by various microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria.
The risk of developing urinary system diseases significantly increases due to the following factors:
- hypothermia;
- injuries in the genital area;
- urolithiasis;
- constant change of sexual partners;
- improper nutrition (excessive consumption of spicy, sour, salty, and pickled foods);
- alcohol abuse;
- lack of fluid;
- irregular urination;
- chronic inflammatory processes in the body;
- sedentary lifestyle.
Prostatitis often occurs without obvious symptoms or with an unclear clinical picture.
In the early stages of the disease, patients may experience painful and difficult urges to urinate, which are more frequent at night. As the disease progresses, painful sensations may arise in the perineum, above the pubis, as well as in the rectum during defecation. These pains can radiate to the sacrum, penis, and testicles, which may also lead to sexual function disorders and problems with ejaculation.
"Treatment of prostatitis is necessary and should be carried out under a doctor's supervision. Incorrect or delayed treatment can lead to serious complications, such as inflammation of the seminal vesicles, testicles, and appendages, prostate sclerosis, infertility, adenoma, and others," specialists warn.
