At the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH), specialized dental care for children with disabilities has been organized, as reported by the institution itself.

According to information from medical professionals, emergency surgical assistance is provided using sedation or anesthesia, which allows for a clear routing of patients.

The NCMCH has a maxillofacial surgery department with 28 beds, and the doctors in this department also conduct outpatient consultations.

Every day, about 50-60 children seek emergency dental care.
According to statistics, over 27,000 children receive outpatient treatment annually, while around 1,200 undergo inpatient treatment. 85% of them require surgical intervention, but sometimes doctors are unable to serve them promptly.

“Caring for children with disabilities requires special conditions, including the availability of specialized equipment and additional staff. According to preliminary data, two to three children with disabilities visit the NCMCH daily, and it takes about an hour to attend to one such patient. The doctors in the maxillofacial surgery department have received training on working with children with disabilities at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute for Postgraduate Education and Professional Development,” the press release states.

Previously, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva raised the issue of dental services for children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. She noted, “In fact, no child has received state assistance for dental issues. I continue to communicate with the mothers of such children, and the treatment of one tooth costs 50,000 soms. Assistance is needed,” she stated.
