The Ministry of Construction of Kyrgyzstan has decided to halt the construction of a 14-story residential building that was being built in close proximity to secondary school No. 61 in Bishkek.
The main reason for this step was the concerns expressed by citizens in a video appeal posted on social media. People voiced their worries that the new high-rise building could pose a threat to the safety of students.
The ministry's press service reported: "By the order of the Minister of Construction Nurdana Oruntaeva, all work on this site has been suspended. The construction permits have been revoked."
Currently, the relevant state authorities are conducting additional checks to determine the legality of the construction and any potential risks to children attending the school.
