Sergey Vakunov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan, shared information about new grants aimed at supporting Kyrgyz students in obtaining education at Russian universities. He announced this in an interview with the "Russia 24" channel.

Currently, there are about 10,000 students from Kyrgyzstan studying in Russia, and 4,500 of them are receiving education on a budget basis.

Starting in 2025, grants for students from Kyrgyzstan are planned to be implemented, which will cover not only tuition fees but also living expenses and personal needs. "This will serve as an additional incentive for the citizens of the republic to continue their education in the Russian Federation after finishing high school," noted Vakunov.

In addition, he indicated that an important step in strengthening the position of Russian education in Kyrgyzstan will be the construction of a new campus for the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). The diplomat added that funding has already been allocated from the Russian side, and a land plot has been provided in Bishkek for the establishment of the new educational institution, where students will be able not only to study but also to live.
