Corruption Perception Index for 2025. Kyrgyzstan Improved Indicators
This year, only five countries in the post-Soviet space improved their positions. Kyrgyzstan, with a score of 26 points, rose by one point. Other countries with positive dynamics include Azerbaijan (30 points, +8), Ukraine (36, +1), Latvia (60, +1), and Lithuania (65, +2). At the same time, a decline in indicators is observed in Belarus (31, -2), Uzbekistan (31, -1), Kazakhstan (38, -2), Moldova (43, -1), Armenia (46, -1), and Georgia (50, -3). The ratings for Turkmenistan (17), Tajikistan (19), and Estonia (76) remained unchanged.
At the top of the index, as in the previous year, are Denmark (89 points), Finland (88), Singapore (84), and New Zealand (81). Norway, scoring 81 points, has entered the top 5 countries with the lowest level of corruption for the first time.
Experts who compiled the index note a global rise in corruption, affecting even those democratic nations that have historically been considered successful in combating this phenomenon. According to the authors of the report, this is linked to the "weakening of political will among leaders."
