Kyrgyzstan simplifies the payment and insurance system for personal assistants

Social workers are no longer required to independently purchase insurance policies

In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Labor, Social Welfare, and Migration has announced changes regarding the system of interaction with personal assistants who provide support to people with disabilities. According to official data, the new rules will affect both the process of paying insurance contributions and the amount of remuneration.

Starting from March 1, 2026, personal assistants will no longer be required to independently purchase mandatory state insurance policies. This responsibility is now assigned to the territorial divisions of the ministry and the tax service, which will organize direct interaction between the agencies.

Additionally, beginning February 1 of this year, a fixed monthly payment for the services of assistants has been established at 8,697.32 soms. The ministry emphasizes that these changes are aimed at reducing bureaucracy and supporting those who care for children and people with disabilities.
