The SpaceX founder also noted that the window for flights to Mars opens only once every 26 months, and the travel time is about six months. In contrast, trips to the Moon can be conducted every ten days, with a flight duration of just two days. At the same time, he added that the company also plans to work on the project for a city on Mars and will begin this work in about five to seven years.
